SN10440 has had an interesting history.
The machine was first seen in downtown Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in a store that later closed, with the monitor beside it in a cardboard box. The present owner spotted it and asked the seller how much he wanted for it. The seller was asking $2000. As rare as Computer Space is, that seems a bit high for a non-working machine. Luckily, the new owner waited and six months later the same machine was spotted across town, minus the monitor. The owner bought it from another dealer who bought off the back of a pickup truck after the first shop closed. He suggested the owner chainsaw it off the base and put it in a recroom bar, or use it for an aquarium or put in a Atari video game monitor. Horrified at the ideas this seller had, he bought it and has preserved it as a Computer Space.
